Planned Parenthood Announces 2007 Maggie Award Winners
Awards Recognize Reproductive Health and Rights Coverage
NEW YORK CITY — Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is pleased to announce the winners of the PPFA Maggie Awards for 2007: Cosmopolitan magazine, Glamour magazine, the New York Daily News, and KTVK-TV - Channel 3, in Phoenix, Arizona. The PPFA Maggie Awards recognize exceptional achievement by the media and arts and entertainment industries in presentation and coverage of reproductive rights and health care issues, including contraception, sexuality education, teen pregnancy, abortion and international family planning.
"Planned Parenthood is indebted to those in the media who have the courage and commitment to write and produce work about the vital issues that affect millions of women, men, and teens we serve everyday," said PPFA President Cecile Richards.
"Accurate and informative media coverage of reproductive rights and health care issues is critically important in today's media-saturated culture."
