PPFA Activists Mobilize in Front of Supreme Court

High-Stakes Battle for Supreme Court Will Determine the Future of Women's Health and Safety

WHAT: With resignation rumors swirling, nine women in judges' robes called the "Roe Rangers" will take to the steps of the Supreme Court to spotlight the critical impact a new justice will have on women's health and safety. Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) Interim President Karen Pearl; renowned women's leader and attorney who successfully argued Roe v. Wade, Dr. Sarah Weddington; and PPFA Chair Esperanza Garcia Walters will be available to the media to take questions.

WHO: Dr. Sarah Weddington — winning attorney in the landmark Roe v. Wade case; the "Roe Rangers" as embodied by Planned Parenthood activists (nine dressed in judges' robes); PPFA Interim President Karen Pearl; and PPFA Chair Esperanza Garcia Walters.

WHY: This demonstration on the last day of the court's session aims to ensure that women's health and the right to privacy will figure prominently in the national conversation surrounding the Supreme Court.

Dr. Weddington, Karen Pearl, and other participants represent the tip of the iceberg that is Planned Parenthood's grassroots activist and lobbying network which will be on the front lines of the upcoming battle for the future of the Supreme Court
